The name Richard Wheatley is synonymous with fly fishing. It is the second oldest fly-fishing brand in continuous operation. Richard Wheatley is most well-known for hand crafted aluminum fly boxes. It also offers a host of fly-fishing accessories and non-aluminum fly box options including American Maple and Black Walnut wood and high-quality ABS plastic boxes.

REC Components has owned and manufactured the Richard Wheatley brand for over 15 years in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. That’s right, all the original swing presses, tooling, and the knowledge to use them was moved from the UK to the USA. If you purchased a hand-crafted aluminum fly box in the last 15 years it came from this factory.
